  • Exterior Cleaning

Before using brand new towels or rags, remove all tags and machine wash. This will help prevent scratching the surface of your vehicle.

Do not use paper towels to remove polish or wax. Because it is made from wood fibers it will scratch the clearcoat surface.

  • Scratches

Rule of thumb. If you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, DO NOT attempt to compound it out. You will only do more damage. It should be brought to a professional to assess the damage and to decide what the best remedy should be to correct the damage.

  • Wheels

DO NOT clean "hot" wheels or rims. The heat makes the cleaning solution too aggressive and can ruin the finish. Spray the wheel down with cold water first, then clean.

You should know the difference between aluminum wheels or magnesium wheels. Take some mild, abrasive metal polish and a soft cloth. Rub the wheel in an inconspicuous spot. If the cloth turns black the wheel is magnesium. No color transfer and the wheel is clearcoated aluminum. The magnesium should be cleaned with the metal polish. The clearcoat aluminum should be cleaned with the same care as the finish on your car.

  • Polishing & Waxing

When removing or detailing wax away from moldings, emblems and other areas, be careful of the brush you use. Some toothbrushes may be to hard and can easily scratch the clearcoat surface.

Think of how the wind and dirt flows over the vehicle's surface. When applying and removing polish and wax, instead of using the circular motion, try applying the polish or wax from front to back. This puts more of the oils into the light scratches on the surface to help hide them.

Interior Cleaning

  • Headliners

Use glass cleaner sprayed on a terry cloth towel to clean the headliner. In general, glass cleaner will remove odors or tobacco stains and won't melt the glue holding the material to the backing material. "NEVER" spray the cleaner directly onto the headliner.

  • Pet Hair

Pet hair is best removed by spraying it lightly with a mist of water. Brush the hair into clumps for easy vacuuming.

  • Leather Seats

Treat leather like your own skin. When cleaning it use only solutions that are made for cleaning leather.

Always condition leather right after cleaning, as cleaning opens pores and makes leather more receptive to conditioning.

Avoid using rubber and vinyl dressings on leather interiors. Some may cause drying, cracking and slippery seats.

  • Window Cleaning

The best way to clean the glass is by using two separate towels. Apply a little cleaner to the first towel and a little on the window. Use the first towel to scrub the glass. Take the second towel and wipe off any excess and polish it. If the windows are extremely dirty or are nicotine stained, Take another towel with some rubbing alcohol and clean the window first. This will cut the dirt. Then proceed as described above.

Common household flexible instruments such as paint mixers or plastic rulers are an effective way to clean hard to reach areas.

  • Stain Removal

(*Always try these remedies in an inconspicuous place for color fastness.)

When treating stains, work all cleaning substances into the stain from the outside toward the center to prevent spreading the stain.

If a stain you have cleaned reappears after drying, it is probably below the surface of the carpet or upholstery. Reapply the cleaner to the spot. Take a clean white terry cloth towel and place it over the spot. Place something heavy with even pressure over the towel for 15 minutes. This will help absorb the stain. Repeat as necessary. If the treatment does not work, the stain may need professional treatment.

  • Lipstick/Cosmetics

To remove lipstick and other cosmetic "marks", white vinegar is often the best cleaner

  • Crayon

A pencil eraser is a simple way to removing crayon "marks"

  • Oil

Cornstarch naturally absorbs oil. Cover the oil spot with cornstarch. Let it work for about an hour. Brush and vacuum. Repeat if necessary.
